​Old Soles Travel is a father and son team of travelers who love to meet new people and help them discover the wide World in a way that is rewarding, affordable and sustainable.

    As philanthropists and content creators, our mission is to inspire everyone to discover new places and experiences that will enrich their lives.  We believe that travel is a right of passage that is essential to the human experience, and one that teaches tolerance and acceptance of other cultures.  Furthermore, we believe that history, culture and ecology are the elements of travel that make one's adventure life altering. 

   To these ends, we are setting out on an adventure to fascilitate the process for as many people as possible to reach their travel goals and expand their understanding of just how wonderful our World actually is. Through blogs, social media, Youtube and, eventually, a series of documentaries, we will bring the World to you and help you with strategies to bring yourself to the World.

 My name is Corey "Turtle" Kerkela. I am a world traveling, Maya archaeologist and budding television personality with a passion for seeing all our world has to offer and helping others do the same.

Turtle’s Travel Blog is meant to inspire you to search out your dream destinations, write them down in a bucket list, and get to them as soon as practical.

Travel has made me a better person and one who loves humanity in all its beautiful facets. The Bucket Fund, a Non-Profit for People with Limited Time and Resources to Realize Their Travel Dreams

Inspired by the story of our dear friend, Steve "Coach Mac" McAnelly, The Bucket Fund is an upcoming 501(c)3 dedicated to taking several public servants with life-limiting conditions and limited resources on their dream trips before their conditions make it impossible. 

The Bucket Fund Page is here to recruit people who have a heart for those in need to assist us in the development and funding of this ambitious venture, as well as an outlet for those in need to reach out for help. Want to travel like a park ranger or an anthropologist? Perhaps you never thought that was possible, or maybe you would rather be a jetsetter who wisks of to the French riviera on a whim. Either way, this blog has you covered. 

The key to reaching your travel dreams is making it a priority and learning how to optimize your time and money on the trip.  As park rangers, we obviously have limited resources, but we travel the World like few Americans. Our advice, tricks and hacks will help you on your way to being an inspiration to your friends and family. 

Lesson 1 is to decide to travel, and upon that the Travel 101 blog page will teach you such valuable lessons as how to fly and get hotels for nearly nothing, who to bring with you, travel safety and security, what to pack, why you should have a bucket list, travel planning, proper use of the internet when planning and purchasing, and many more.

Old Florida Blog: Site to See Florida History Up Close

Did you know that Florida used to be twice the size it is now, paleolithic hunters once hunted mastodons and giant sloths on her shores, diverse Native Floridian tribes traded with people as far away as Central America and specialized as ship salvagers, has the oldest continually settled city in the United States, and is the resting place for over 3,000 shipwrecks, many of which carried treasures from Europe, Asia and Latin America. As anthropologists and history obsessed Floridians, we would like to introduce you to our Florida. 

     The Old Florida blog is about places with natural, cultural and historical interest. We will include our food and drink suggestions and some information on where to stay. Plus, we will teach you some fun facts about Florida culture, past and present.
